Nationally recognized photographer Jessie Preza has been specializing in interiors, editorial, food and product photography for the better part of two decades, collaborating with talented tastemakers and household brands to tell stories through photojournalistic images. Her fresh and approachable style, sharp eye for detail, and her love for home, food and lifestyles have led to her images being featured in over 50 naional and local magazines, with her photography recently gracing the covers of Southern Cottage and Romanic Homes magazines. Her work has been featured throughout the pages of Traditional Home, House Beautiful, HGTV Magazine, Coastal Living, Country French, Beautiful Kitchens & Baths, American Farmhouse Style, Classic Home, and more. She’s also contributed photography to three of Phoebe Howard’s coffee table books: Mrs. Howard, Room by Room and The Joy of Decorating  (Stewart, Tabori & Chang Publishing) and Coastal Blues (Abrams Publishing).

Telling stories through each of her images, she serves as freelance photographer for: Meredith Corporation, Engaged Media, Hearst Communications, and Time, Inc. whose print and digital properties include HGTV, Coastal Living, Cottages and Bungalows and other beloved lifestyle publications. Recent national campaign work includes providing photography and/or food styling for QVC, Outback Steakhouse, Publix Bakery, Winn Dixie, Southeastern Grocers, Hudson Valley Lighting, Romp & Roost® and UFM Underwear. Celebrity chefs include “Chopped!” - winning Chef Adrienne Grenier, as well as Kenny Gilbert from Bravo! TV’s “Top Chef.”

In addition to photography, styling on set, and providing art direction, Jessie regularly works with some of the best and brightest creative minds in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and beyond, connecting the dots and paving the way for beautiful editorial features in local, regional and national print magazines as well as digital outlets. She works closely with editors, producers, writers, stylists, designers and art directors. Going the extra mile is a key characteristic of her advertising, technical and creative backgrounds.  As a result, her wheelhouse includes an impressive breadth and depth of photographic knowledge, as well as an esteemed list of close contacts in the publishing realm, as well as agents, advertising and marketing agencies.

Jessie feels honored to spend her days in beautiful homes, tasting great food and meeting brilliant people. Capturing beauty is her calling; even when she’s without a camera, she sees life through the lens.

Jessie Preza’s career has developed its own texture over the years, shifting and growing to meet clients’ needs and allowing her to evolve as a creative professional. Having been a photographer for nearly two decades, she now specializes in commercial and editorial photography, interiors, lifestyles and food. Her preferred style is lively and full of color. She doesn’t typically use a lot of backgrounds or lights -- though she does have them in her arsenal -- and she refrains from over-processing her photos unless a particular shoot calls for it in the name of creative direction. Not a huge fan of over-edited photos or the use of too many filters, she prefers to focus on her subjects in the moment and get the shot right in the camera, then subtly enhance her photos later, using an even hand to make necessary adjustments and bring out the life in each shot. A firm believer that every edit should serve a purpose, her ideology holds fast to the belief that no one should ever PhotoShop something simply because they can. In other words: less is more, candid > contrived, and quality always wins out over quantity, no contest.

She typically stays booked several weeks ahead and mostly shoots on location. If needed, Jessie has a small studio space available for product shoots, headshots and small groups. Before your photo shoot, a phone conference or quick meeting is necessary to discuss your goals on set (typically on location for commercial and interior design projects, and either on location or in Jessie’s studio for other projects). Styling services, if needed, carry a separate fee, and a discussion about shopping, scouting and planning should take place several days prior to a styled shoot. The photographer prefers to view each location beforehand whenever possible, or at least see some quick phone shots, especially for interior design projects. For current availability, please get in touch to book your next session!
